If there are harmful effects of alcohol drinking there are also few healthful benefits of consuming it. Here are some of the benefits of drinking alcohol.
Alcohol production and consumption have been part of human culture since time immemorial. Many deadly diseases like cancers are related to alcohol drinking. It is also one of the immediate caused of thousands of death worldwide. Despite the many harmful effects of drinking alcoholic beverages people continue to consume it.
1.) Men who drink moderate amounts of alcohol 3-4 or more times a week are up to 35% less likely to have a heart attack than non-drinkers.
2.) Men who increase alcohol consumption by one drink per day have a 22% lower risk of heart attack.
3.) Daily intake of 1 or 2 units of alcohol, which is equivalent to half or full standard glass of wine, is associated with a lower risk of coronary heart disease in men over 40 years of age.
4.) Daily intake of 1 or 2 units of alcoholic beverage is also associated with a lower risk of coronary heart disease in women who have been through menopause.

Daily intake of 1 to 3 drinks for people aged 55 or older have 42% reduction in the probability of developing dementia. , daily light-to-moderate drinking (one to three drinks) was associated with a 42% reduction in the probability of developing dementia – the serious loss of cognitive ability.
